ACCOMPLISHMENTS
MANAGEMENT: Established and Managed North, Central & South American operations for a $6.0 bil. Japanese parent, including both domestic and border manufacturing facilities with 400+ employees and three operating divisions.GROWTH: Grew North, Central, and South American business for the Japanese parent company from $1.3 mil. to $200.0+ mil. in 10 years. Grew a light industrial temporary staffing service from $50 mil. to $100 mil. in 2 years. Held a key role in a number of start-ups including preparation of offering documentation for the successful acquisition of venture capital.
CHANNEL ESTABLISHMENT: Developed distribution networks for industrial control components (300+ distributors), retail/banking Point-of-Sale (POS) (280+ distributors), and 120+ manufacturer’s representative organizations.
SALES & MARKETING: Managed 70 direct sales people participating in 60+ trade shows annually. Responsibilities exceed $200MM annually. Established President’s Club (direct sales), channel award programs, dealer and end-user incentive programs, and conducted quarterly and annual incentive trip promotions.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT: Managed manufacturing plants in Sunnyvale, CA and Juarez, Mexico for intelligent CRT systems and industrial control components, utilizing both insertion and surface mount technologies. Successfully directed ISO9000 registration processes in both manufacturing and service business environments.
INTERNATIONAL: Participated in the Y2K crisis representing a Denver based company with in –house developed software tools for managing the Y2K evaluation process. Developed representation in 30+ countries (in a short 12 month period) with a mixture of systems integrators and distributors/developers of hardware and software products. Participated heavily in speaking engagements at Y2K seminars throughout Europe and Asia.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Directed the development and successful introduction of three product lines simultaneously. Developed and introduced a banking credit terminal line that resulted in a $20.0+ MIL. division within 3 years. Participated in the development and successful positioning of multiple operations for both private and public offerings for various markets.
HUMAN RESOURCES: Jointly managed a workforce of 18,000+ retail food service managers and clerks by establishing operating policies, incentives, and development programs. Introduced human resource evaluation and selection tools in a number of companies to expand new hire programs, to improve maintenance of the existing staff skills database, and to form developmental programs for the evolving needs of the business. While heading the Midwest Region for a temporary industrial staffing firm I grew the region from 8 to 19 offices in a 24 month period placing in excess of 5,000 people daily.
TECHNICAL: Specified, developed, and implemented computer based process control systems for steel, chemical, power, and natural gas control applications. Designed and developed the first electronic POS system in the USA for food retailers. Participated on the original Ad Hoc committee for the specification of the Universal Product Code (UPC) found on most Grocery and H & BA products today. Broad experience in the personal use of PC based applications.
