SOLUTIONS DEVELOPMENT GROUP, INC. – Chicago, IL

General Management & Technical Consulting services in industrial process control marketplaces, retail POS, and banking POS. Short and long term planning, organizational analysis, technical evaluations, personnel selection/development, and manufacturing start-up all directed at achieving measurable results with a focus on the individual performers their selection, personal development, and motivation. Some major clients are listed below. All of the below began as consulting clients, some evolved into full time positions as shown.

Cash Bases Inc. – Manufacturer of Cash Drawers for POS systems 1999-2000
Consultant/President – US Based operation for a UK parent. Established Manufacturing operations in the Chicago area for customized cash drawers. Client base included NCR, IBM, Siemens, and Solectron.

TAVA Technologies – Factory Automation Specialists 1998-1999
Executive V.P./Consultant – Denver based factory automation specialty company with 17 satellite offices throughout the USA. I was responsible for establishing a worldwide base of affiliated companies to assist in the resolution of Y2K problems for US based companies and to promote the use of a TAVA developed software tool for the Y2K evaluation process. I was also responsible for the corporate IT department and the rollout of an Oracle based accounting and management system.

Integrated Retail Concepts, Inc. - Credit Processing Systems 1997-1998
Consultant/President – This began as a consulting project and evolved into a full time position. I was brought on board for the development of a business plan to be used for the acquisition of operating capital. We were successful in obtaining 8 individual investors and launched the company utilizing a customized system for credit processing. Ultimately, the investors elected to move the operations to N.Y. and I elected to stay in Chicago.

Labor World (now TANDEM) Elk Grove Village, IL 1995-1997
Consultant/Regional Vice President - This began as a consulting project and transitioned into a full time position as demands increased. The company is a provider of light industrial flexible workforce solutions. Grew the region from 8 to 19 offices in 20 months using both acquisitions and internal expansion resulting in revenue growth from $50 million to $100 million. Assisted the company in positioning the operations to enhance performance and identify growth opportunities to capitalize on an influx of funding from a pending IPO.

National CacheCard, Inc. - Retail Food & EBT Smart Card Application 1992-1995
Consultant - This was a consulting project involved with the specification, development and implementation of electronic benefit transfer systems. The project was financed by an independent philanthroper in the St Louis area and used a non-profit organization as a test bed for the electronic delivery of Federal Food Coupon Benefits. The feasibility was proved and the specification was sent out for bids from commercial enterprises. The systems are now being installed throughout the USA for multiple applications.

VideOcart, Inc. - Shopping Cart Mounted LCD Ad Panels 1990-1992
Consultant/Executive V.P. Engineering – I was responsible for the commercialization of a development project that utilized LCD flat panel displays mounted on retail food shopping carts to display, based on location within the store, advertisements and store loyalty information. Over 50 stores were outfitted with the systems, however, because of a lag in battery technologies, the product was shelved until technology could solve some critical application and costing problems.

President & CEO - Omron Business Systems 1984-1989
Responsible for three divisions of this $ 6.0 billion Japanese owned organization. Coordinated development, marketing, sales, and distribution of electronic Point-of-Sale equipment and Industrial Control Components throughout North America. North American operations ultimately produced annual revenues of over $200 million.

President & CEO - American Videonetics, Co. 1976-1979
  Directed this public (86% Omron) technology development corporation. Royalty based customers included: IBM,   BASF, Pertec, Raytheon and a number of Federal Agencies.
Vice President - Omron Electronics, Inc. 1976-1977
  Coordinated Finance, Administration and Retail Systems Division start-ups for the North American territory.
Staff Systems Coordinator- Omron Corp. of America 1975-1976
  Developed specifications and a product line (50+ models) of electronic cash registers in concert with the Japanese   development center.

JEWEL COMPANIES, INC. - Chicago, IL

Manager - Customer Service Division
As a member of a Corporate Management Committee, coordinated customer service departments in over 250 stores. Responsible for training and resource allocation with over 18,000 employees.
Manager - Electronic Research & Development
Designed and implemented computer based automation systems for retail POS, dairy plant automation and truck fuel dispensing systems.

Manager - Field Technical Support-MW Branch
Controlled individual technical projects with budgetary and schedule responsibility. Invented the first Retail Food Electronic POS system in North America. Primary emphasis on Industrial Automation including - Steel, Chemical, and Power Plants as primary targets.
